The area of Social Awareness and Design deals with the critical relationship between design, society, and the built environment, emphasising the role of architecture and interior architecture in addressing social, cultural, and ethical challenges.
Within this research area we investigate how spatial design can foster inclusivity, well-being, and sustainability by engaging with diverse communities, stakeholders, and users. Through participatory approaches, interdisciplinary collaboration, and critical analysis, we examine the impact of design on social dynamics, equity, and accessibility.
Our goal is to develop design strategies that respond to contemporary societal needs, promoting responsible and human-centred solutions that enhance quality of life and contribute to a more just and resilient built environment.
