We offer different financial support opportunities through VLAIO (Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship) funding.
As per the direct cooperation, the University of Antwerp may offer you support by:
- Bilateral Research Project
- Fee-for-service Project
- Scientific Chair
- Master Thesis
- Internship.
Flanders Make
The cooperation with Flanders Make (the strategic research centre for the manufacturing industry) pertain the use of financial support opportunities that include VLAIO funding, as well as:
- Industrial Research Valorization and Acceleration (IRVA) –concerns innovative high-risk research focused on industrially relevant topics, that can lead to long-term application in companies. The IRVA is funded by the Flanders Make covenant and executed by core labs of Flanders Make while the company specific application projects are funded by the company itself and may be submitted to VLAIO as (cooperative) R&D projects or Innovation Boosting. Duration: up to 3 years.
- Strategic Basic Research (SBO) - concerns innovative high-risk research focused on industrially relevant topics, that can lead to long-term application in companies. Duration: up to 4 years, the feasible funding: up to € 4000 net per project.
- Innovation Boosting - is a short-term project type in which Flanders Make is commissioned by a company to investigate the feasibility of their innovative idea, co-funded by VLAIO. Duration: up to 8 weeks. The feasible support: up to 50% of the total project cost.
- Living Labs for Industry 4.0 - a collective project aimed at the demonstration of advanced techniques in Industry 4.0, which focuses on smarter products, processes or business models. The feasible support is up to € 500,000 per project.
