Expertise

Alexander Snyers is mainly active in the field of Belgian company law. He has written a PhD thesis on the "de facto director". He has authored several national and international publications in legal reviews and books within the broad domain of company and financial law. He has also carried out extensive research on “token offerings” and has spoken at several national and international conferences. In 2018 he co-authored, together with Prof. dr. Robby Houben, a study for the TAX3 committee of the European Parliament on cryptocurrencies and blockchain, their legal context and their implications for financial crime, money laundering and tax evasion. In 2020 he joined forces with Prof. dr. Robby Houben again, to write a study on crypto-assets for the ECON committee of the European Parliament. This study was given the title “Crypto-assets – Key developments, regulatory concerns and responses”. Alexander Snyers is a member of the editorial staff of the Corporate, Economic and Financial Law Volume of the Larcier Law Books, published by Larcier-Intersentia.
