Together with Pieter Verachtert and Leen Swinnen, Aster is conducting research on the implementation of the M-decree. The M-decree aims to include more students with special educational needs into mainstream education and consequently create a more inclusive education system (Crevits, 2014). The research on which Pieter, Leen and Aster are employed focuses on obtaining scientific insights on the adoption of the M-decree in Flemisch schools.
