Aster Van Mieghem recently completed her dissertation, which dealt with the levers to support teachers in realising a more inclusive education system. More specifically, Aster carried out research into the implementation of the M-decree in Flanders. The M-decree aims to include more students with special educational needs a place in mainstream education and consequently create a more inclusive education system (Crevits, 2014). Her dissertation is part of the Education Research Support Center (SONO), which has been recognized by the Flemish Government for the 2016-2020 period. You can find more information on this website.
Currently, Aster is focusing on translating the results obtained into practice.
