Expertise

My main research activity includes the management of the PPES- Service Facility for Global Kinase Activity Profiling, providing service to both Belgian and international laboratories. On this task, I have gained unique expertise in the Univ. of Antwerp in the profiling of kinases activity in a wide range of biological samples, including cell lines, tissue, and liquid biopsies from patients. The management of this platform also allowed me to learn several protocols for protein lysate preparation and kinase inhibitor screening protocols. I have profiled samples from mouse colon, and brain tissues, cell lines from glioblastoma, pancreatic cancer, neuroblastoma, multiple myeloma, glioma, T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and peripheral blood samples from Fragile X syndrome and RANKL treated cervical cancer patients. In parallel, I have acquired knowledge in bioinformatics (more recently in integrating kinome data with other omics techniques) and data mining. Besides, I lead several research projects in the field of molecular mechanisms involving the study of kinase signaling and ferroptosis in T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, neuroblastoma, glioma and multiple myeloma, and the role of Withaferin A on kinase activity changes in the regulation of Tau-phosphorylation in in vitro and in vivo Alzheimer’s disease models.
