Expertise
My expertise lies in the analysis of diverse transport networks, ranging from road freight transport and aviation to passenger commuting networks. I consistently approach these networks from an economic and sustainability perspective. In my recent research, I focus specifically on road freight transport, which I analyze using large-scale GPS data. The objective is to gain deeper insights into a sector that is economically crucial, yet simultaneously carries a significant environmental and societal footprint.
Validation of the Revnext fleet model for delivery vans and trucks.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to validate the Revnext vehicle fleet model for delivery vans and trucks, so that the model can be applied in a transparent and scientifically sound manner in policy analyses conducted by Rijkswaterstaat and other relevant parties. The validation focuses not only on technical aspects, but also on the rationale behind the calculation methods used, the model's scope of application (fit-for-purpose), and its scientific validity. This addresses the need for insight and accountability as long as RWS does not yet have its own modeling tools for the delivery van and truck fleet.Researcher(s)
