Abstract
Through a systematic economically oriented reading of literary texts, the project concentrates on the representation of the economic life and discourse in modern and postmodern Austrian literature (1890-2000). Furthermore the project emphasizes methodological and interdisciplinary questions (the interferences between literature/text studies and economy/ economics): In what way can methods and insights from economics contribute tot the analysis of texts? What role can literature and text studies play in economic life and discourse?
