I am a full-time Assistant Professor (tenure track) at the Wageningen University (NL). My research mainly focuses on the link between nutrition and neurochemical CNS changes in neurodegenerative disease, such as the potential effect of prebiotics on tryptophan indole/kynurenine metabolites on cognition along the gut-brain-axis. We also perform largescale intervention trials to assess the impact of lifestyle and e.g. the MIND diet on cognitive preservation in older adults at AD-risk. Next, I am also affiliated at UAntwerp where I am still involved in neurochemical biomarker dementia studies.
