What?

Special facilities are reasonable adjustments of lessons and exams which try to compensate your functional impairment as much as possible. For example:

  • using Text-to-Speech software,
  • leaving a lecture early,
  • using extra time to take an exam,
  • an adjusted initial package from your faculty,
  • change the date of an exam.

Who?

To qualify for special facilities you must have a recognized disability such as a psychiatric diagnosis, chronic illness , learning or developmental disability.

How?

Are you an exchange student (e.g. Erasmus)?

You will need a certificate from your home university which states which special facilities were provided for you there so we can provide a smooth transition to our university.

Contact us at bijzonderefaciliteiten@uantwerpen.be before:

  • The 9th of October 2026, for the first semester
  • The 26th of February 2027, for the second semester

If you need extra support or follow up, please contact your care coordinator.
