What can you do with a Master in Business Economics?
With a Master in Business Economics, you can work in consultancy, finance, banking, audit and assurance, marketing, logistics, or start your own business. 80% of UAntwerp Business Economics graduates find a job within 6 months, working in 33 different countries. How long is the Master in Business Economics at UAntwerp?
The programme consists of 60 ECTS credits, and usually takes one year to complete. Our intakes start in September, and you'll have exams in January and June, and possible retakes in August. Found out more about the structure of the programme.
What are the admission requirements for the Master in Business Economics?
Admission requirements depend on your previous degree and background. Visit the admission and enrolment page for full details on entry requirements, language tests and the application process.
What are the application deadlines?
Your application deadline on your nationality or residence status.
- If you are not a national of a European Economic Area (EEA) country, you must submit your application by 28 February. Hard copy documents must be received by 31 May.
- If you are an EEA national or you live in Belgium with a valid long-term residence permit, you must submit your application by 31 May. Hard copy documents must be received by 30 June.

Is there a preparatory programme?
Yes! You may be assigned a personalised preparatory programme of up to 54 ECTS. Based on your previous studies, you can receive exemptions, which are assessed individually by the Board of Admissions. Depending on your study load, you may also be allowed to take selected master's courses alongside your preparatory programme.
You don't apply for the preparatory programme separately. Simply apply for the master's programme, and if needed, the Board of Admissions will create a customised preparatory programme for you.
Can I stay in Belgium after completing my study?
International students from outside the EEA can apply for a one-year orientation stay in Belgium to find a job or start a company. On average, 1 in 3 Business Economics graduates from UAntwerp choose to stay in Belgium after graduation.
Can I also do a double degree?
Yes! The Master of Business Economics also offers a unique double degree programme, together with Solvay Brussels School of Economics & Management (ULB). This gives you the opportunity to study at two top schools in Belgium and obtain two Master's degrees in two years' time.
In the first year, you study Economics in Brussels, and in your second year Business Economics in Antwerp.
