Each year, the University of Antwerp organises a Welcome Week for international students moving to Antwerp to study a degree programme at our university. The 2023 edition will take place from Monday 18 till Friday 22 September 2023 (the week before the official start of the academic year). A variety of orientation activities will be organised to facilitate your academic, administrative and social integration. Attending the Welcome Week is highly recommended. During the Welcome Week the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences organises a Faculty Day on Wednesday 20 September 2023. On this day you will have the opportunity to meet our Dean, the academic coordinators of your programme and the international students who are currently enrolled in our English programmes. We will also explore the campus together. Provisional programme: 

• 9:45 a.m.: coffee & tea
• 10:15 am: welcome
• 10:25 am: introduction to the faculty and student administration (Dimitri Geelhand de Merxem)
• 11:00 am: introduction of master programmes & testimonials from senior students (Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy, Epidemiology)
• 12:00 pm: lunch
• 1:00 pm: guided tour of Campus Drie Eiken
• 2:00 pm: social activity on Campus Drie Eiken 
• 4:00 pm: end of Faculty Day

The Faculty Day takes place on Campus Drie Eiken (Building O, Auditorium O.7). Have a look at the campus plan to find your way, or take a virtual tour of our campus in advance! 
You need to register separately for the Welcome Week and for the Faculty Day. Being registered for the Welcome Week does not automatically mean you are registered for the Faculty Day!

  • Tuesday 26 September 2023 (1:00 pm; Building R; Room R.007): introduction of students and teachers, presentation of the Master programme, VLIR-UOS scholarship information session. 

• Info session Master of Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy: 
  • Monday 25 September 2023 (2:00 pm; Building R; Room R.007): information about the master thesis (procedure, topics, research fair, ...). 
  • Monday 2 October 2023 (4:00 pm; Building R; Room R.013): 
    • Physiotherapy in Belgium and introduction to our Master programme (Structure of our programme, bridging programme, way of teaching, after your studies, research groups, comparison with home country of students)
      
    • Study programme counselling (SisA, exams, grading, exemptions, study progress, programme as working student, …)
