A deep dive into the Port of Antwerp
February 2026
The Port of Antwerp operates on a scale that does not fit into a single story.
Ships and terminals may catch the eye, but the real engine sits behind the scenes: a mix of financial decision-making, digital systems and coordinated logistics that keeps the entire operation running.
Pricing models shape competitiveness, investment flows determine capacity, and risk management underpins the port’s resilience. At the same time, data streams, digital tools and shared platforms connect thousands of partners who depend on accuracy and timing. Finance and technology are both essential layers that form the structure of Europe’s second biggest port.
This academic year, our two Business Connect events will open a window into that structure:
- On 12 February: The Finance behind the Port, organised by Capitant and Alechia.
- On 25 February, The Port as a Data Hub, organised by IMBIT and FBE.
Both sessions bring you voices from the field, in two separate panel discussions. Together, they show how the Port of Antwerp actually functions when you look past the skyline and into the system that holds everything together.
