Accreditations
Accreditations are quality assurance mechanisms for business schools. They ensure we meet specific academic standards, indicating our commitment to high-quality education and research. For our students, these accreditations assure the relevance and strength of their diploma. For our faculty, they also enhance our opportunities for collaboration with other universities worldwide. In short, they're incredible important.
An overview
At this moment, we are the only business faculty in Flanders with multiple international accreditations:
- Since 2005 all FBE's management programmes are accredited by AACSB.
- Accreditation by NVAO is mandatory for all programmes in Flanders.
- In 2020, the Faculty's EFMD accreditation for its Business Economics and Business Engineering degrees was renewed for 5 more years.
- In 2023, the Faculty of Business and Economics, including the activities, the postgraduate and the executive portfolio of the Antwerp Management School (AMS), has obtained the prestigious EQUIS accreditation for a period of 3 years.
6 more years of AACSB accreditation for the Faculty of Business and Economics of UAntwerp and AMS | May 2025
We’re officially re-accredited by AACSB International for another 6 years! A recognition we at the University of Antwerp and the Antwerp Management School are very, very proud of. And one that confirms we’re on the right track. The Faculty of Business and Economics achieves this re-accreditation together with AMS, our strategic partner.
The Peer Review Team praised "our strong connections with practice" and "the way we handle the open enrollment to the Bachelor programme, in a manner that furthers diversity and inclusion." This is a result of the high level of engagement by faculty members and high quality support services.
Established in 1916, AACSB is the longest serving global accrediting body for Business Schools and the world’s largest global business education network, connecting educational institutions and businesses to develop exceptional global leaders. Only the best schools around the world can meet the consistent, demanding requirements of earning AACSB Accreditation—the highest standard of quality in the world. Today, there are only around 1.000 Business Schools with an AACSB Accreditation worldwide .
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this possible: students, staff, faculty, alumni and partners. This one’s for you.
