Bio
Bart Decroos is an architect, researcher and editor based in Antwerp. He is currently a PhD candidate at the Henry van de Velde Research Group of the University of Antwerp (fellowship of the FWO). He is an editor of OASE Journal for Architecture and writes for various architecture magazines. Previously, he worked at the Flanders Architecture Institute and Architecten De Vylder Vinck Taillieu.
Favourite (interior)architecture project
The ‘project’ that impacted me the most during my architecture studies and to which I keep returning as a reference, is the novel Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino. Although not a work of architecture and not even really a book about architecture, it nonetheless captures most what architecture is about: the intertwinement of physical space with human and non-human lives, memories, histories, stories and imagination.
