Conceptually, the aim of education is to train for four roles:

The master in nursing and midwifery as a clinical leader

In the healthcare sector, we are increasingly confronted with complex care questions and situations. There is also a call for continuity and transmural care. As a healthcare provider, the clinical leader is responsible for the execution and organization of professionally sound and demand-driven customized care.
In the role of a director, the clinical leader ensures that care proceeds as a continuous and integral process focused on the well-being of the care recipient, coordinating care situations. This involves multiple care recipients in complex and unprecedented care situations, as well as the care-related directing function within and outside the organization.
As the designer of the care process, the clinical leader is responsible for the innovation of direct care provision. To monitor and ensure the quality of care, they will participate in designing quality care. The clinical leader is responsible for creating conditions for an improvement in the primary care delivery process and contributes to the development of healthcare policy.
In the role of a coach, the clinical leader ensures professional development in all stages of the care process. As a practitioner, the clinical leader leads a multidisciplinary team. The clinical leader is capable of functioning as an expert and entrepreneur in the healthcare sector.
During the training, concepts and skills, as well as applications, are provided to the master.

The master in nursing and midwifery as a researcher

The quality requirements within society necessitate high-quality standards in healthcare. In the role of a researcher, the master is involved in the development and monitoring of quality parameters. They analyze complex situations to provide answers through a research design. As an independent researcher, the master contributes to healthcare.

Throughout the education, the steps of rigorous scientific research are taught in a project-based manner. This includes promoting both quantitative and qualitative research, as well as mixed-method approaches.

The master in nursing and midwifery as an evidence-based expert

Due to the complexity of healthcare issues and the demand for effective and efficient care provision, decision-making at the expert level is required. In the role of a healthcare provider, one builds expertise that is shared with others as a consultant. As a designer, the individual develops the most suitable care programs and interventions. In the role of a director, they manage the quality of care programs and support and ensure patient safety.

From the expert role, the individual is capable of implementing or supporting the implementation of evidence. During the education, knowledge and skills are provided to the evidence-based expert, enabling them to collect and evaluate information in an advanced manner through a variety of channels.

The master in nursing and midwifery as an academic healthcare provider
