Being intrigued by how foreign language users engage with diverse language contexts and try to establish their communicative identities, my research has revolved around language-discordant academic and professional contexts.
I am engaged in multi-partner projects on, among others, language awareness raising (with the support of social media), learning and learner variables (self-efficacy, acculturation, metacognition), academic literacy (reading comprehension and writing), effective professional communication (e.g. health care communication), ... These topics are at the nexus of teaching and research and my project outcomes have often been translated into e-learning tools.
