Research at universities is more and more externally financed. The competence and competition for these funds is becoming more and more professional.
As research manager I supported the faculty of Law by
coordinating the research policy within the faculty, including the creation of research units
supporting our researchers to acquire and run externally funded projects
monitoring the PhD process, e.g. professionalising the doctoral study programme, monitoring the supervision of PhD students, taking initiatives to improve their wellbeing at work
building a network with research managers and funding agencies at all levels
advising researchers on publication strategies
