Finding your first job

Both during and after your studies, the faculty and its student associations offer plenty of ways for you to discover your talents, develop your (soft) skills and take your first steps toward the business world.

Shape Your career

During the Shape Your Career Track, you have the opportunity to participate in four sessions spread throughout the academic year. Three of these take place on campus and are organized by the Faculty of Business and Economics in collaboration with Randstad Young Talents, alumni, experts, and student associations. You will explore various sectors, discover your strengths, engage in conversations with alumni, and gain valuable insights to help shape your career path.

These three on-campus sessions also prepare you thoroughly for the fourth and final session: the major job fair Moving Forward. This way, you will be well-informed and confident when meeting potential employers. Register for the Shape Your Career Track via the Career Center.

Consult with Randstad Young Talents

The Faculty of Business and Economics and Randstad Young Talents collaborate to bridge the gap between student life and the job market. They guide students based on three aspects:

  1. Coaching/guidance (e.g., CV screening, interview training, etc.)
  2. Providing student jobs relevant to your studies so that you can get acquainted with the job market and enrich your CV before graduating. These jobs can be either ongoing or project based, taking place during the academic year or vacations periods.
  3. Assisting final-year students and recent graduates in finding their first job, tailored to their talents and expectations. Moreover, mock interviews can be requested to practice and build confidence before applying.

Make an appointment by emailing them using your student email address, or book a meeting with them directly on campus.

Start your own company

In 2014, the Antwerp University Association started with the development of a student entrepreneurship program named TAKEOFFANTWERP

This program focusses on the development of competences related to entrepreneurship by students in their bachelor’s or master’s degree, regardless of their field of study. TAKEOFFANTWERP support students who are interested in running a business, as a self-employed professional or an entrepreneur.

Do a PhD after your studies

Interested in research? Then a PhD might be something for you. Doing a PhD after your degree shows that you can make a significant, independent contribution to your discipline.

The 'Dive-into-PhD' training programme that gives students the opportunity to learn more on what a PhD entails and helps you writing a FWO PhD application.
