Courses
Programmes
The Faculty of Pharmaceutical, Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences (FBD) offers two full English Master programmes (30 ECTS per semester):
Master of Biomedical Sciences: Neurosciences
Master of Biomedical Sciences: Tropical & Infectious Diseases
Also in the Dutch Master programmes of Biochemistry & Biotechnology and Biomedical Sciences there are English courses. However, a full programme of 30 ECTS per semester cannot be obtained in one of these specific study areas.
Master of Biochemistry & Biotechnology
Master of Biomedical Sciences: Clinical Scientific Research
Master of Biomedical Sciences: Molecular Mechanisms of Diseases
If you click on a course in the study programme, you will see o.a. the course details, prerequisites and language of instruction.
Please note:
- We advise you not to mix courses of different programmes and model years (Master 1, Master 2). There will be too much overlap in the course and exam schedules.
- You are allowed to take a maximum of 2 courses from the Faculty of Science. Your chosen cours(es) will be checked with the Faculty of Science. Please send your request to nele.devloo@uantwerpen.be. Courses of another faculty are not accepted. Please also be aware of possible overlaps in course and exam schedules.
- The prerequisites of each English course must be consulted very carefully.
- You may send your course proposal to nele.devloo@uantwerpen before drawing up the DLA in Mobility Online.
Time Table
You find the model timetable of each programme under Study Programme on the web page of the programme.
Exams
- Check the academic calendar for the exam periods and holidays.
- If you click on a course in the study programme, you can find the specific assessment method and criteria for that course.
- You are expected to stay until the final day of the exam period; no online or alternative exams will be provided in January and June. Re-exams are organised on campus in August-September.
Research
In case of a practical training under Erasmus Study (using an institutional agreement), you need to be nominated and apply before the same deadlines as for the course exchange. A training under Erasmus Traineeship can be requested over the course of the academic year.
In both cases, an internship place in the lab can never be guaranteed. Places in a lab depend on availability of space and a promotor, willing to host a student. Your home institution is free to contact a lab and promotor OR may contact nele.devloo@uantwerpen.be.
