ACADEMIC YEAR 2020-2021

The University of Antwerp does not expect a full return to traditional face-to-face classes to be possible for academic year 2020-21.
This means that Linguapolis will organise a mix of on campus and online classes as necessary. We make full use of the advantages of both methods. The learning outcomes for both versions of the language course are the same and during all lessons - both on campus and online - you will be coached by a passionate and experienced Linguapolis teacher.

The Winter School is a fulltime immersion course. You learn a lot in a very short time because of the language immersion. This extra-intensive approach requires a substantial time investment from you, but it also guarantees fast results. The interaction with the language teacher, learning with/from each other and your personal commitment are the three pillars of your success.

* The course level 5 higher education perspective is aimed at Dutch language learners who want to continue their education at a University College or University. Academic Dutch is acquired via the manual Wijze Woorden. At the end of the course you will take the Inter-University Language Test of Dutch as a Foreign Language. You can find more information about this test on www.itna.be.

Corona measures: Concerning the Winter School, at least 2/3 of the lessons will take place on campus and this according to the applicable safety measures: keeping a safe distance in the classroom, not circulating and wearing a face mask. The other lessons are held online during which you will also be accompanied live by your language teacher. In case of changes to the safety policy of the university or the government, it is possible that the entire course has to be taught online after all. The Winter School is a full-time course with lessons from Monday to Friday. The setting of the course and the exact timetable will be communicated to all course participants shortly before the start of the course. All lessons will be scheduled between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Corona measuresWe plan all classes on campus and this according to the applicable safety measures. Whether this setting can continue until the course ending in June depends on a number of internal and external factors related to the university. It is therefore possible that (part of) the course will still be given online. In that case, lessons will take place on the same day and at the same time and under the supervision of your language teacher. In the meantime, we have developed a lot of experience and material in the field of online lessons. We guarantee you a true Linguapolis course regardless of the circumstances, with ambitious goals, thoroughly developed teaching materials, a passionate language teacher and motivated fellow students.

This is an ideal course for participants with a busy agenda and who can only commit to one evening class a week. In the classroom, we will focus on active working methods and practical classroom exercises that are prepared at home. Combined with a substantial amount of self-study, you will achieve the same level after this course as after the intensive evening course (2 evenings per week). The interaction with the language teacher, learning with/from each other and your personal commitment are the three pillars of your success.

Level 5 professional perspective is aimed at people who are already working or are intending to work in a Dutch language environment. In this course, we focus on Dutch used in a work setting, i.e. on conversation with colleagues, meetings, work telephone calls, emails...
