Your appointment at the University of Antwerp
Once you have applied for a vacancy, you will be informed about the selection procedure that needs to be followed. When a faculty or department offers you a position, they will officially request your appointment as a staff member.
The University of Antwerp has different types of employment and each type has specific conditions if you are working as an international employee. As a doctoral scholarship holder you conduct scientific research with a view to obtaining a PhD degree. You can make use of a tax-exempt doctoral scholarship for a period of four years at one or more of Belgium’s universities. More information can be found on our website.
