AMUZ (Flanders Festival Antwerp) aims to offer and promote cultural, educational and scientifically informed activities in the field of music and related art forms. These activities take place both at AMUZ and at other locations, at regional, national and international level. To achieve this, AMUZ organises concerts, courses, lectures and other related activities, always placing the principles of historically informed performance at the heart of its work.
Historically informed performance means performing a musical work based on current knowledge of the original composition and the instruments used at the time it was created, while still allowing the musicians to bring their own artistic interpretation to the performance.
