WP4 focuses on enabling cross-sectoral and transdisciplinary collaboration to support the design and evaluation of nature-based solutions (NBS). Continuous engagement with stakeholders is central to this work package, ensuring that local knowledge, priorities, and perspectives are integrated throughout the project.

Through a series of participatory workshops and co-creation activities, WP4 brings together actors from different sectors, including public authorities, water managers, landowners, conservation organizations, and local communities. These interactions help to identify key challenges, refine project indicators, and explore locally relevant opportunities for NBS implementation.

Building on the results from WP1–WP3, stakeholders are actively involved in evaluating the feasibility, impacts, and benefits of NBS under different scenarios. This process supports informed decision-making by linking scientific insights with local experience and contextual knowledge.

WP4 also promotes knowledge exchange and mutual learning across the different case-study catchments. Through collaboration and shared experiences, stakeholders and researchers jointly develop strategies that strengthen the water battery and improve the resilience of catchments to environmental pressures.

Overall, WP4 ensures that the project outcomes are locally grounded, socially relevant, and applicable in real-world water management and policy contexts.
