Making the invisible visible: Proefkot workshop inspires young scientists
Researchers from the Vision Lab and Bio-Imaging Lab welcomed children aged 10-14 for the Proefkot workshop “I spy with my little eye…”, an engaging introduction to the world of imaging technologies.
During the workshop, participants discovered how techniques such as MRI, CT, and hyperspectral imaging can reveal details that are invisible to the naked eye. Through hands-on activities and experiments, the young scientists explored how imaging helps us better understand the world around us, including solving challenges such as distinguishing fake eggs from real ones.
The workshop was organized in collaboration with UAntwerpen - Wetenschap voor Iedereen and the DynXLab Core facility, and highlighted the importance of science outreach and inspiring the next generation of researchers.
