The effects of climate change are now clear in every region. Its disruptive impact affects lives, economies, landscapes. Heavy rainfalls and inundations, long periods of drought, rising sea water level are some of most obvious symptoms affecting also our cities. Therefore, cities and villages need to to strengthen their resilience and adaptive capacity to these climate-related challenges and disasters in all countries.

Our research group focusses on the relationship between these environmental challenges and possible urban development measures. More specifically, climate adaptation, design with nature and urban metabolism constitute the key research issues of this research track, together with resilience of rural villages, green-blue networks, coastal defense and food urbanism.
