The lab focuses on well-being and key human capacities, such as empathy, creativity, and moral reasoning, within legal professions. The lab is headed by Prof. dr. Anne Van de Vijver.

Project Legal Empathy

This project investigates empathy among legal actors and explores how empathy relates to legal principles such as independence and (im)partiality (in collaboration with Prof. dr. Stefan Rutten).

This project conceptualizes legal creativity, develops a measurement tool for legal creativity, and creates a creativity training program tailored to the legal context (in collaboration with dr. Sven Mathijssen, Radboud University).

Project Gifted Lawyers' Career Development and Well-being

This project explores environmental factors that contribute to career development, well-being and mental health of gifted adults in legal professions.

Project Resonance (FWO project G043723N)

This project develops a framework to evaluate automated decision-making within public administrations and businesses. The framework integrates psychological needs, fairness, and good governance (in collaboration with Prof. dr. Erich Kirchler, University of Vienna, and Prof. dr. Stéphanie De Somer).
