Business Engineering: Financial Engineering

Master of Business Engineering: with specialisation Financial Engineering

Transform the financial world by transforming yourself

Do you have an interest in finance and business, as well as in statistics, mathematics and finance technology? Want to learn everything there is to know about finance, and then deep dive into your field of interest? If so, then you were meant to be a financial business engineer.

 But what does that mean? In a nutshell: you are fully trained to engineer the financial future of business ideas by transforming financial theory into corporate practice, in an ethical and sustainable way.

Interdisciplinary programme

In this two-year English Master’s programme (120 ECTS credits), you

  • gain a profound insight in the financial products used by corporates, banks, insurance companies, asset managers, … - and
  • develop the skills to formulate, analyse and solve financial models within the complex environment of todays’ organisations.

What's included?

Besides a flexible programme with plenty of opportunities for internationalisation, skills development and access to practice, you'll also:

  • discover the city of Antwerp. In the first semester you’ll discover more about the role of Antwerp in the global fashion or diamond industry, while in the second semester you'll get a behind-the-scenes look at the Port of Antwerp;
  • get to take part in our buddy programme, helping you connect with Belgian students from day one;
  • have the opportunity to become a student ambassador and represent the University of Antwerp;
  • and gain access to our Shape Your Career track, a four-session programme designed to help you launch your career.

Build your future

Once you are graduated, you become a highly sought-after profile on the job market. Often, our final-year students sign a contract even before they graduated.

Over the past ten years, 95% of our students from our Dutch equivalent programme found a job within 6 months after graduation.
