Navid Hasheminejad

Since February 2020, Navid Hasheminejad works as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Construction Engineering in the Faculty of Applied Engineering at the University of Antwerp. As a member of the Energy and Materials in Infrastructure and Buildings (EMIB) research group, he works mainly on using optical measurement systems, microscopes and image processing techniques to investigate different properties of bitumen and asphalt mixtures.
In January 2020, he finished his Ph.D. in the faculty of Applied Engineering at the University of Antwerp (EMIB & Op3Mech research groups). The title of his Ph.D. was "Characterization of the mechanical properties of asphalt mixtures using optical measurement techniques" under the supervision of prof. Cedric Vuye and prof. Steve Vanlanduit.
He graduated in 2015 as M.Sc. in "Mechanical Engineering: Mechanical system design", from Politecnico di Milano. His final master thesis was entitled: "Digital image correlation techniques in dynamic application on deformable targets". He also obtained a bachelor's diploma (B.Sc.) in the faculty of Mechanical Engineering from KNTU (Tehran, Iran) in 2012.
