Theme: Designing a lesson
A lesson rarely starts when you walk into the classroom. Thoughtful preparation and design help create a clear structure, support student learning, and give you confidence as a lecturer. But where do you begin? How do you translate course content into a coherent lesson? Which elements should you consider during the preparation process? And how do you make informed choices when designing a lesson?
During this session, you will gain insight into the key building blocks of a well-designed lesson, reflect on the choices you make as a lecturer, and apply these ideas to your own teaching context. Through examples, discussion, and exchange with colleagues, you will develop concrete strategies and practical tools to support your lesson planning and teaching practice.
