You'll also learn about frequently confused words and mistranslations, and receive tips and tricks for memorising and mastering the new words you come across.

The topics include:
- the right register: formal versus informal language use (e.g. get versus acquire)
- (near-)synonyms (e.g. however and nevertheless)
- vocabulary used in papers, articles, presentations and lectures (e.g. to ascertain)
- typical collocations (e.g. a classic example of)
Evaluation
There is no test at the end of the course. We can issue a certificate of attendance on request.
