How to admit your doctoral thesis for preservation?
You are obliged to offer your doctoral (PhD) thesis to the University of Antwerp Library for preservation.
Please send two copies of your publication to the University of Antwerp Library. If you have requested an ISBN for your doctoral thesis, you should send two extra copies for the Royal Library of Belgium. Deliver your copies to the contact address mentioned on this page.
You must also submit a digital version in pdf format. The procedure is available here:
https://studhelp.uantwerpen.be/ro_helpdesk/knowledgebase.php?article=273
The bibliographic data of your thesis will be added to the catalogue and the academic bibliography. The digital version will be archived in the repository of the library.
Microfilm publication of your doctoral thesis
It is possible to publish your thesis on microfilm through Proquest. All costs related to this service are at the expense of the student.
Clause of confidentiality
All PhD researchers need to email a signed copy of the confidentiality checklist (see Forms on the Antwerp Doctoral School website) to the Valorisation Office (valorisatie@uantwerpen.be) and their faculty PhD administration (so they can update the status of the ePhD milestone regarding confidentiality aspects to ‘completed’).
Some PhD researchers conduct their doctoral research as part of a contract with an external partner, in which a contract is signed with a clause of confidentiality.
The paper version of the confidential dissertation is kept in the library (Special Collections department) and can only be consulted under the supervision of the library staff. The user must also sign a declaration of confidentiality. The digital version in the catalogue is not accessible.
