TDM (Text and Data Mining) is the automated process of copying large quantities of data or texts and analysing them to identify patterns and relations.

This is often necessary for research, but when TDM processes are released on publishers’ websites or databases, this is often interpreted as an attack and access to these resources is temporarily blocked.

Publishers often provide specific tools for TDM however, enabling the extraction of the data from the resources, if not for commercial use.

If you need to “data mine” a resource of a specific publisher, do contact the library so that we can check how and on which conditions this is possible.
