Cultureel Erfgoed Annuntiaten Heverlee gathers archival material and heritage documents related to the activities in education, missionary work and pastoral work conducted by the Zusters Annuntiaten congregation. It comprises material from the ‘Instituut voor het Heilig Hart’ school (active since 1894-1896) which was both a primary school, a housekeeping school, a technical school, an agricultural school and a teacher’s training school for girls. Their collection comprises 100 slides, with pictures made by E. Stalpaerts containing 33 views of Italy. Some slides are made with glass plates produced Ed. Beernaert’s D.P.C°. Plate. The second series comprises 43 views of Belgium and a portrait of Leopold II. The remaining slides range from missionary scenes, visits of Cardinal Van Roey, and a religious procession to commercial didactical slides (e.g. castles along the Rhine).
