Research mission
The ‘Female heart team’ is a multidisciplinary and interprofessional research team within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Care, UAntwerpen and UZA, with extended expertise in cardiovascular disease in women.
Our mission is to perform innovative research about women’s cardiovascular health and hypertensive pregnancy complications with the main purpose of reducing the risk of long-term cardiovascular consequences. Our team has abundant experience in the follow-up of pregnant women with cardiovascular disease and the treatment of women specific cardiovascular complications.
The interdisciplinary character of our research team results in thorough and interesting research concerning this very specific group of women.
