Additional prerequisites

Every course has specific prerequisites that exchange students must fulfill. Please review the course information to verify these prerequisites.

Some courses, such as modules, include additional prerequisites, which you can find here below.
This measure is in place to safeguard students from selecting courses that would be too challenging without the necessary foundational knowledge.

Autumn semester prerequisites

Advanced Course on International Criminal Law (2101RECICL)

Only for fourth or fifth year students who have already obtained a credit for Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure at their home university.

Module Commercial Transactions: Rights & Governance
  1. Law of the European Union (2020RECLEU) or equivalent course on substantive and institutional EU Law at home university.
    If you don't have prior knowlegde of European Union Law, you may exceptionally enrol in this module and simultaneously follow the course Law of the European Union (2020RECLEU) in Antwerp.
  2. Public International Law and International Enforcement (2020RECPIE) or equivalent course on public international law and enforcement at home university.
    If you don't have prior knowledge of Public International Law, you may exceptionally enrol in this module and simultaneously follow the course Public International Law and International Enforcement (2020RECPIE) in Antwerp.
Module Diversity and Law
  1. Law of the European Union (2020RECLEU) or equivalent course on substantive and institutional EU Law at home university.
    If you don't have prior knowlegde of European Union Law, you may exceptionally enrol in this module and simultaneously follow the course Law of the European Union (2020RECLEU) in Antwerp.
  2. Constitutional Principles and Human Rights (2020RECCHR) or equivalent course on constitutional law and human rights law at home university
  3. Partim Public International Law (2020RECPIE) or equivalent course on public international law at home university.
    If you don't have prior knowledge of Public International Law, you may exceptionally enrol in this module and simultaneously follow the course Public International Law and International Enforcement (2020RECPIE) in Antwerp.

Spring semester prerequisites

Law of the European Union (2420RECLEU)

Compact course; only for 2nd semester students, not for full year students.

Advanced Course on EU Economic Integration and Internal Market (2101RECEIM)

Only for fourth or fifth year students with prior knowledge of Economic Law.

Advanced Course on International Tax Law (2101RECITL)

Only for fourth or fifth year students with prior knowledge of International Tax Law.

Advanced Course on Competition Law (2101RECEMR)

Only for fourth or fifth year students with prior knowledge of European Union Law.

Module Commercial Transactions & Disputes
  1. Law of the European Union (2020RECLEU) or equivalent course on substantive and institutional EU Law at home university.
    If you don't have prior knowlegde of European Union Law, you may exceptionally enrol in this module and simultaneously follow the course Law of the European Union in Antwerp (2420RECLEU).
  2. Private International Law (2020RECPIL) or equivalent course on private international law at home university.
  3. A course on contract law at home university.
Module European Constitutionalism and Fundamental Rights
  1. Law of the European Union (2020RECLEU) or equivalent course on substantive and institutional EU Law at home university.
    The prerequisite of prior knowledge in EU Law is essential for this module. Combining the module with the course Law of the European Union in Antwerp (2420RECLEU) is insufficient to fulfill this requirement.
  2. Constitutional Principles and Human Rights (2020RECCHR) or equivalent course on constitutional and human rights law at home university.
Module Sustainable Development and Global Justice
  1. Law of the European Union (2020RECLEU) or equivalent course on substantive and institutional EU Law at home university.
    If you don't have prior knowlegde of European Union Law, you may exceptionally enrol in this module and simultaneously follow the course Law of the European Union in Antwerp (2420RECLEU).
  2. Constitutional Principles and Human Rights (2020RECCHR) or equivalent course on constitutional law and human rights law at home university.
  3. Public International Law and International Enforcement 2020RECPIE or equivalent course on public international law and enforcement at home university.
