Linguapolis and the Centre for Teacher Professional Development (CNO) combined their expertise to offer participants from outside the university the self-study module 'Be Prepared' on Blackboard Course Catalog. Professional tutoring in a webshop, in other words.

The CNO was keen to expand its offer with the first fully online module, and Linguapolis' academic English team was looking for a way to offer self-study material to participants from outside the university in a user-friendly, clear and attractive format. The partnership formed in no time: the existing 'Be Prepared' workshop was transformed into a fully-fledged online module for self-study, offered on Blackboard Course Catalog.

Linguapolis took care of the content and didactic part, providing clear videos, a logical and balanced structure, and downloadable teaching materials. The CNO worked with e-Campus on the organisational rollout and communication to the target audience. The result is an online module that both teams are proud of.

The self-study module was launched on 13 January: Online professional development at your own pace: Be prepared. What English skills do students need in higher education? Demand was high: straightaway there were 32 registrations from final-year English teachers who want to better prepare their students for English in higher education. With enthusiastic partners and motivated participants, this project looks set to continue.
