For Charo, a Spanish language teacher, having no fewer than two colleagues in her class this autumn took some getting used to. NT2 language teacher Cédric and administrative staff member Eve came to brush up their Spanish in her Level 3 course at Campus Drie Eiken.
‘This is the first time I’ve had two colleagues in my group,’ Charo explained. ‘When I saw their names on the registration list, I did get a bit stressed. But that’s all gone now the classes have started, and I really enjoy it. Cédric and Eve support the other students and are active participants in the lessons. This means they help towards creating a really good learning environment.’
Language teacher Cédric adds: ‘Since I already speak French and Italian, I thought it would be a nice challenge to study Spanish as well. I love the country, the culture and the food. Moreover, it’s very enriching to learn from colleagues: how do they approach their classes and what can I integrate from that into my own? I’ve already learned so much on this course; Charo is a fantastic language teacher.’
‘I take Spanish because I like to travel to Spanish-speaking countries,’ said administrative staff member Eve. ‘Charo makes sure there’s a lot of interaction and some humour in the lessons, making the course a really fun hobby.’
