Do you want to practise speaking Dutch outside of your Dutch lessons? Did you learn French ages ago and now your speaking is a bit rusty? Does your English need a bit of a refresher? Then Online Conversation Practice is for you! See for yourself the European aspect of these sessions.
You’ll practise your speaking skills for ten weeks during interactive sessions, held online in the evenings. Especially designed tasks will help you towards being able to hold smooth, effortless conversations. And the best part? You’ll meet like-minded people from all over Europe during these online evening sessions.
This European dimension grows out of cooperation within the YUFE alliance (Young Universities for the Future of Europe), which includes UAntwerp and Linguapolis. The YUFE alliance consists of young universities with a focus on research and aims to become an inclusive university with a strong European identity. With partner universities from 10 EU countries, YUFE is firmly committed to multilingualism and lifelong learning. So, accessible language activities like Online Conversation Practice fit right into this vision.
Any more pluses of Online Conversation Practice? Sure there are. You’ll join a group of highly skilled, motivated participants who are (or were) learning the same foreign language. Your tutor will be a professional and enthusiastic language expert who emphasizes interactive, hands-on assignments. This is how one participant summed it up: ‘Rebecca made sure everyone was given the opportunity to speak. I really appreciate her approach.’ You’ll talk about the culture, current affairs and society of the countries where the target language is spoken. You’ll practice together with language learners from Finland, Cyprus, Spain or Poland, among others, and all participants bring their own strengths. This is how we develop a European spirit together.
