Our 15 early-stage researchers (ESRs) send greetings from the destinations where they have performed their secondments.

#INSPIREGreetings from Antwerp!

Elham visited the University of Antwerp in September and October 2020 to receive training in how to use laboratory animals in an optimal way in research and to obtain the FELASA accreditation. She followed these courses together with Callan, Benji, and Dustin.

#INSPIREGreetings from Maastricht!

Dustin has performed a 1-month secondment at Maastricht University to be trained in Mass Spectrometry Imaging with the support from Charles.

#INSPIREGreetings from Antwerp!

Sara and Patrizia have performed their secondments to Physiopharmacology Research Group at the University of Antwerp between October and December 2022. They have been collaborating with Callan, Benji, and Dustin.

#INSPIREGreetings from Biberach!

Tommaso has performed a 1-month secondment at Boehringer Ingelheim between October and November 2022 to receive surgery training for using mice telemetry devices, while working on implementing deeplabcut cut tracking system in the Lab of Safety Pharmacology.

Brigitta and Haibo performed a secondment to UCB Biopharma in Brussels in January 2023 for collaboration in novel hiPSC-CM cardiac safety assays with support from Martina. During this research stay, Anna joined the team to attend scientific lectures given by the UCB senior scientists.

Callan has taken part in a 4-week secondment at the University of Nottingham to perform experiments, in which has evaluated the cardiovascular toxicity of anti-cancer treatments in vivo. In Nottingham, Callan has collaborated with Patrizia and Marieke.

Chris has taken part in a 4-week secondment at Boehringer Ingelheim in March 2023 to receive specialized training in microsurgery and telemetry data analysis with support from Elham.

Martina has taken part in a 1-week secondment at the University of Maastricht, in the Cardiovascular Research Institute Maastricht (CARIM), to receive specialized training in patient-derived stem cells and their electrophysiology with support from Anna.

#INSPIREGreetings from Antwerp!

Charles has been taking part in a secondment at the University of Antwerp to collaborate with Dustin at the Physiopharmacology Research Group. Charles has been performing Mass Spectrometry Imaging-guided Proteomics (MSI-Spatial Omics) approach to investigate Doxorubicin metabolism and drug effects on the proteome.

#INSPIREGreetings from Paris!

Callan visited INRIA in Paris to collaborate with Sara at COMMEDIA – the Computational mathematics for bio-medical applications. This research focussed on in silico experiments to predict changes in arterial hemodynamic properties pre and post drug intervention.

Benji visited Maastricht University in November 2023 to learn how to perform proteomics on tumor samples in collaboration with Charles.
