Walk-in climate chamber

Walk-in climate chamber

The walk-in climate chamber can be used as a research or testing environment to investigate hygrothermal behaviour in complex structures and building connections. It consists of two rooms which are independently air-conditioned, and allows to test building and installation components (e.g. HVAC) and other assemblies, under different environmental conditions. More info

The Centre for Cell Therapy and Regenerative Medicine

Validated gastrointestinal model of visceral pain for preclinical drug testing

The University of Antwerp has developed a validated gastrointestinal models for visceral pain which can be used for in vivo proof of concept of new lead compounds. Pharmaceutical companies looking to test a preclinical candidate for further development in visceral pain-related pathologies can benefit from this established expertise.  More info

The Centre for Cell Therapy and Regenerative Medicine

With its Centre for Cell Therapy and Regenerative Medicine the university hospital and the university of Antwerp offer a one stop shop for development, certified manufacturing and clinical implementation of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMP). It is the first academic GMP-certified Centre that meets EU regulations for the production of ATMPs.
We offer our know-how and facilities and are keen to explore new avenues both with industry and other research institutes for collaborative projects. More info

Alternative testing strategies

Alternative testing strategies are gaining importance in chemical, pharmaceutical and ecological risk assessment. With our approach, tailor-made tests can be used to address specifi questions in order to correctly interpret the obtained results. We work on pure chemical and pharmaceutical compounds and mixtures, as well as on environmental and industrial (e.g.effluents) samples. More info

Mesodrome: a mesocosm for ecological impact assessment

Mesodrome: a mesocosm for ecological impact assessment

At Campus Drie Eiken two research groups of the University of Antwerp, Sphere and Ecobe, constructed a large mesocosm facility. A mesocosm is a controllable semi-natural system in which environmental and biological processes can be studied on an ecologically relevant scale of complexity and timeframe. We invite organisations to join us to find answers to their ecological, toxicological and risk assessment questions in cooperation with our researchers. More info
