In 2020 I started with my doctoral research project concerning the effect of hearing loss and vestibular dysfunction on cognitive performance, Cortical Auditory Evoked Potentials and MRI brain volume changes. Recently the focus of my research changed to the hereditary DFNA9 disorder and its impact on cognition in both human populations and in a genetically modified mouse model as well, studying the evolution of hearing loss and vestibular loss. Besides my doctoral research, I am working as a clinical audiologist at the Antwerp University Hospital.
