At the annual conference of the Dramaturgische Gesellschaft, which will take place in Ghent, Kristof van Baarle will join a panel on ‘Practice as the researcher-as-dramaturg/dramaturg-as-researcher’, together with Christel Stalpaert, Jasper Delbeke, Peter Aers and Leonie Persyn. The conversation takes place on February 8 2020, at 14h30, at Minnemeers Theatre.
At the third Conference of the European Association for Theatre and Performance (EASTAP), which will this time take place in Bologna (27 Feb – 1 March 2020), Visual Poetics is well represented as four members will present a paper. Luk Van den Dries and Edith Cassiers will give a talk on “OB-SERVING MAKING THEATER – ARGOS: Towards a Methodology of the Observation of Creative Processes.” Timmy De Laet’s paper is titled “The Textuality of Dance: From Movement to Document toward Historiography.” Rosa Lambert will give a presentation on “When Text Becomes Movement: The Kinetic Quality of Writing.”
On the 29th of February, Kristof van Baarle is invited to present a lecture titled “The trouble with the end: what remains after theatre?” during On Enclosed Spaced and the Great Outdoors, a performative symposium curated by David Weber-Krebs and Jeroen Peeters, and hosted by Brakke Grond in Amsterdam.

Timmy De Laet was invited on December 2nd 2019 by Ballet Flanders to give a talk on the artistic directorship of Kathryn Bennets (2005-2012) as a part of the lecture series organized on the occasion of the company’s 50th anniversary. The event also included an interview with one of the Ballet Flander’s iconic dancers, Alain Honorez. That same evening Ilse Uytterhoeven gave a talk on the artistic directorship op Robert Denvers (1987-2005).

On October 25th 2019, Sabine Lenk presented “Teaching Faith with the Lantern – Multimodal Performances by the Clergy (c. 1900 – c. 1920s)”, (co-speaker: Frank Kessler), during the conference "Multimodality: Illusion, Performance, Experience" at the Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies at Aarhus University.
