Admission and enrolment

Check the access requirements to ensure that you are eligible to start the programme. Only applicants with an academic Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy or with a certificate of our bridging programme are eligible to start the Master’s programme. All other candidates will be advised to enrol in the bridging programme first.

If you don't have a Bachelor's degree from a higher education institution in Belgium, the Netherlands or Luxembourg, you need to follow an admission procedure, before you can enrol.

Otherwise, you can go straight through to enrolment.

Admission

You have to submit your admission application via Mobility-Online, our online application platform. Make note of the deadlines!

Tuition fee

The mentioned fees apply to the academic year 2021-2022.

Your tuition fee is calculated based on how many credits you are using by registering for courses and are subject to yearly revision.  Please see the tuition fees overview page for more information about fees for other programmes and details about the payment.

  • If your nationality belongs to a member state of the European Economic Area*: a fixed amount of 247.9 euro, increased with 11.9 euro per credit taken. This means 961.9 euro in case you register for 60 credits.
  • If your nationality does not belong to a member state of the European Economic Area*: a fixed amount of 400 euro, increased with 90 euro per credit taken. This means 5800 euro in case you register for 60 credits.  A tuition fee reduction is possible (conditions apply): 400 euro + 45 euro/credit (3100 euro for 60 credits)

*The member states of the European Economic Area are: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden.

The tuition fee for the current academic year can be found on the tuition fees overview page.

Tuition fee reductions for non-EEA nationals

In contrast with what is mentioned in the "Tuition fee" text box above, all non-EEA nationals pay a reduced tuition fee (400 euro + 45 euro/credit) when enrolling in the bridging programme or master programme of Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy. The increased fee (400 euro + 90 euro/credit) does not apply to these students. This fee reduction is automatically issued and students do not need to apply for it.

The University of Antwerp does not grant scholarships. However, the university does participate in several programmes that offer scholarships.

Exemptions

It is sometimes possible to receive an exemption from a programme component. This means you don’t have to sit an exam for that particular programme component in order to obtain your degree.

You can request exemptions on the basis of:

An EVK doesn’t automatically entitle you to an exemption. Based on the certificates you provide, the faculty will compare the EVK with the programme component you are supposed to take. Take into account that credit certificates are only valid for five years.

If you are granted an exemption, you will not receive a credit certificate for that programme component and your diploma supplement will state that you received an exemption for it.
