Vanaf 2020 brengt FSW Connects (Faculteit Sociale Wetenschappen) in samenwerking met ‘Nuff Said vier maal per jaar een gratis Lunch Talk. Tijdens deze Lunch Talks staat een artiest centraal uit de wereld van de comedy, literatuur of muziek. De focus ligt op het persoonlijke en professionele verhaal van de gast, en hoe het zich afspeelt tegen een achtergrond van belangrijke maatschappelijke thema’s en gebeurtenissen zoals migratie, polarisatie en (internationale) conflicten. Kom langs en laat je inspireren door onze onconventionele gastsprekers. 

DYNASTY is een in Queens geboren hip hop/soul artiest met een internationale reputatie en een onwrikbare toewijding om haar dromen te volgen. Geïnspireerd door gruizige geluiden uit het noorden en de avonturen van het leven, laat Dynasty al jaren tracks en podia knallen en werkt ze samen met zwaargewichten uit de industrie zoals DJ Premier, Talib Kweli, Skyzoo, Rapper Big Pooh en Apollo Brown. Haar rauwe talent en haar teksten met het hart op de tong leverden haar de bijnaam ‘spit queen’ op van DJ Premier zelf.

In 'Life & Lyrics: Empowerment, Expression, and Connection Through Hip Hop' gaat hiphopartieste Dynasty in op de transformerende kracht van hiphopmuziek en -cultuur. In deze boeiende lezing wordt onderzocht hoe hiphop dient als platform voor empowerment, waardoor zowel artiesten als luisteraars hun authentieke zelf kunnen uitdrukken, tegenslagen kunnen confronteren en hun unieke gaven kunnen omarmen. Aan de hand van persoonlijke anekdotes en voorbeelden uit de hiphopwereld belicht Dynasty de manieren waarop songteksten en verhalen verbinding bevorderen, veerkracht inspireren en positieve verandering teweegbrengen in individuen en gemeenschappen.
