In support of the Open Access week 2026 colleagues from different departments and faculties give talks on several Open Science themes.

Ma 19/10 12u30-13u30 | Martijn Van Roie (DB&A) will present the University’s Open Access figures, highlight its involvement in internal and external Open Access working groups, and provide an overview of the University’s APC expenditure. |
Di 20/10 12u30-13u30 | Prof. Thomas Ernst (Professor of German Literature) will provide an overview of the key considerations surrounding Open Access publishing, as well as the specific opportunities available to members of the Faculty of Arts (FLW) to publish Open Access in peer-reviewed journals. The presentation will be followed by an opportunity for questions and discussion. |
Wo 21/10 12u30 -13u30 | Nele Dexters (RIVA) will give a talk on predatory publishing practices, with ample opportunity for questions, reactions, and discussion. |
Do 22/10 12u30-13u30 | Linde Tuybens (RIVA) will delve deeper into the differences between Open and FAIR data, an important distinction for understanding how research data can be made more accessible, reusable, and responsibly managed. |
