Model of design competition 'Theodoortje' VUB - shown in the exhibition 'Models: 'lost designs''
Research context.
(1)Theme of the exhibition: a second place in a competition, a building concept that turns out to be non permittable, a disagreement between different commissioners, … this exhibition aimed to give these projects a second live and placed the role of using models in the design process as a central theme.
(2) Exhibition 'Lost Models', by Architectenhuiskamer
(3) Selection of the exhibited models was done by a curator and selection group within the organisation of Architectenhuiskamer (which is formed by a group of alumni students of the department of architecture of the UHasselt. They organize two to three discussions, lectures and exhibitions a year on architectural topics).
Impact.
(1) exhibition and lecture (location 'Z33' House of Contemporary art, Zuivelmarkt 33 te Hasselt, opening lecture 18/05/2017, exhibition from 18-21/05/2017) , review available on the website of the organisation.
(2) the role of the use of models in an architectural and spatial design process was discussed and stressed to be of possible great importance; cultural impact by exhibition in Z33.
