During our April PhD seminar there is plenty of room for the discussion of ongoing B-Magic PhD research. In order to receive valuable feedback from her peers, Adeline Werry (UCL) shall first present a paper that she has prepared for a Paris conference on childhood and history. The preliminary title of this presentation is The magic lantern slides: tools for an ‘attractive' narration of the past. After that, we ask each PhD student to briefly discuss their ongoing research while focusing on any struggles they are currently having in order to be able to ask their colleagues for suggestions or tips. Thirdly, we shall discuss a draft version on an article by the KU Leuven researchers Wouter Egelmeers and Nelleke Teughels, centring on the introduction of the magic lantern to Belgian primary and secondary education.
