Nathan Herrebosch is a PhD researcher in the Government and Law Research Group in the Faculty of Law at the University of Antwerp. He holds a BSc in Engineering Technology from KU Leuven (Great Distinction), a BA in Philosophy from KU Leuven (Distinction), an MA in Philosophy from Ghent University (Greatest Distinction), and an MSc in Global Prosperity from University College London (Distinction, with Certificate of Commendation).

Nathan is part of the interdisciplinary GOBAREG-project. This project’s overall aim is to develop, analyse, and validate an interdisciplinary framework on the conditions and context under which goal-based regulation (GBR) can be included, designed and implemented legitimately and achieve its expected outcomes in a hybrid multi-actor regulatory regime. Within the GOBAREG project, Nathan is responsible for researching the legal aspects of goal-based regulation, and specifically rule design. His research is thus concerned with how GBR can be designed in a juridically legitimate manner.

Nathan’s previous research and expertise centred on well-being, prosperity, and democracy, approaching these topics from a philosophical and interdisciplinary perspective. He has also worked as assistant coordinator of the UGent Human Rights Research Network, where he co-organised the international inter- and transdisciplinary conference ‘The Universal Declaration of Human Rights at 75: Rethinking and Constructing its Future Together’.
