The nutrients nitrogen and phosphorus are essential in our food system. Yet, a substantial share is lost due to excessive manuring and food losses. Also, the import of protein e.g. as soy, has a large ecological footprint. This project aims to better understand the flows of nutrients and proteins in Flanders. It is researched how and by which indicators the efficiency and circularity of nutrients can be quantified.
