Het Urban Studies Institute is een platform en laboratorium voor de ontwikkeling van interdisciplinair onderzoek en onderwijs rond steden, stedelijke ontwikkeling en stedelijke uitdagingen. Het instituut fungeert bovendien als aanspreekpunt en interface voor contacten met niet-academische actoren, zoals beleidsmakers en mensen uit het middenveld, en voor dienstverlening rond stedelijke ontwikkeling en beleid.
